has the most women government ministers in the world as of 2000. Two Belgian youngsters stole an entire public playground to build their
own private playground at home. The children became nervous after reading about their handiwork in local newspapers and after seeing police patrols of the area. They put everything back and then told their story to the police. Officers gave them a telling off before returning them to their parents. |

A man suspected of robbing a jewelers store in Liege said he couldn't have done it "because he was busy breaking into a school at the same time." Police then arrested him for breaking into the school. Surprised while burgling a house in Antwerp, Belgium, a thief fled out
the back door, clambered over a nine-foot wall, dropped down the other
side, and found himself in the city prison. -- A Belgian man has been jailed for six months for wearing a fake Rolex . A court in Dendermonde heard that the man, named only as Gunther R, 33, had been spotted by representatives of Rolex wearing the fake watch and they complained to authorities. The judge ruled the man had knowingly bought the fake and sentenced him to six months in prison under laws for handling counterfeit goods. He was also ordered to pay a £700 fine for breaching brand name registration laws. --- A Belgian seaside town has made its way into the Guinness Book of Records by knotting together almost 10,000 bras. Oostduinkerke knocked its bra-knotting rival Tongerlo out of the record book by tying 9,829 bras together to beat Tongerlo's 2001 record of 7,500. The bras will be donated to charities working with women in Romania. |
